alright guys got 4 - 5 grand to spend on scoob, im 24, 2 yrs ncb, dr10. so after cheapish insurance, just dunno much about the beasts always been a bmw man, also wot do i need to look out for?

Also wots fuel consumption range from?? (i know its a silly question)

not sure if he is selling a scoob, i think its just an example of what you could get for the money,i think being 24 and only 2yrs ncb and a dr10 you will struggle to get insured under £1500,have you had any quotes.

yeah iv had a quote on a uk turbo for £700, import £2000, im willing to spend £1500 o insurance if the cars worth it, just dunno wot to look for really, what makes a good example impreza?

£700 bite there hands off very good price.
a nice uk model with a full service history would be as good starting point and will keep you happy enough for a year or two before you want more power and by that time hopefully you will have a few more ncb's to add mods or go for an sti.

I have just had a look on fleabay and there is plenty about.. With your age, points and NCB id go for a UK spec WRX.... You cant go much wrong with that! Get a tidy one for £4000-£5000, Wagon or Saloon and keep it sweet for a year or two, then you can throw a few ££££££`s at it and make it a monster or get an STI??

Well they are all good runners.. So dont be put off it it has done a few miles...

I got my 95 WRX import for £3500 and it had done 57,000 miles...

I would be looking in that sort of price range.

2yrs ago i was looking for a car for a friend and we ended up buying a 99uk classic facelift 4 door in sonic blue with 60,000 on it for £5000 on a V reg

so you work out 2yrs on and some more miles and its right in your price range

Id go for more a standard & good service history than sporty with loads of mods for now or you will feel the pinch when it comes to insurance. Also with the fuel prices the way they are expect about 200-220 miles to a £45-£50 tank fo fuel...

Hehe, don't buy a scoob for economy..... Driving off-boost (very tricky) you'll get 29mpg in a UK classic, a bit less in an import. Boot it everywhere and you'll go into the teens.... rossd001 is about right for an "enthusiastic" driver, I get a fair bit more on a remapped WRX (22-27mpg, depending on the throttle-demon).

150 to 200 miles on a tank in my95 uk depending how you drive.

ive thought about a diesel it would be nice to fill up every 2-3 weeks instead of every week.

cant bring myself to sell it just yet though.

The UK post 97 are a lot better than green un's 95......

At your age, stick with a UK turbo Classic or a UK newage WRX until you get some ncb racked up....

180 miles of mixed driving per tank (55 quid or so) in my sti but as said you dont buy a subaru for economy.

I always get 300 miles from a tank, facelifted classic modded classic. That's down to quarter level or just below. I mostly drive on motorways and don't drive like I stole it, I don't crawl everywhere either I think I'd hate to get a car that does 150 miles from a large tank

I only ever had one long motorway trip in mine & it did over 150miles to half a tank which is what i would normally get from a full tank just around the doors.
