i have had 17's on my wrx and 18's on my p1 both with suspension upgrade
imo i did not notice too much difference between the 2. yes the 18's do drift a little more and are a little harsher on the roads and also in most cases look nicer as the fill the arches with no reall need to lower the car other if you are going for styling, but it imo depends on how you think the car drives me myself the next set up i will go for would be 17's and drop it so they fill the arches, which would give the impression of 18's. all my opinion but i think it would depend on what you think as you will have to live with it.

I've had classics with both 17's and 18's, my current car has 18's and I honestly cant tell much differance in handling!
Yes the tyres on the 18's are like rubber bands and dont ride as well, but when your going flat out down a country roadthere fine!
