track day helmets
How do you know if a helmet is suitable for a trackday?
would a proper eu quality marked motorbike helmet be good enough?

Taken from Javelins site J ....
What should I wear?
A general rule of thumb is that in the interest of safety your body, arms and legs are covered and you wear a helmet. Javelin insists that drivers and passengers wear BSI approved helmets at all times on the track. Other than the points indicated above (helmet, etc.), no specific safety clothing is required - this is entirely down to the individual.
Hope this helps

I went to the Nardo test track in Italy a few years ago with Jaguar. This place is a 8 kilometre banked circuit and lots of motor manufacturers use the track at the same time.
Cruising at 150 mph at the top of the bank, the Kraut in the M3 BMW was in full F1 overalls and crash helmet, roll cage in the car etc. Following in his slipstream, the Jag guys were in T-shirts, shorts and flip-flops with the stereo and the aircon on!

Do what I did and get the full monty of driving shoes and fireproof overalls and gloves. My mates take the proverbial out of me but I told them I'd have the last laugh when my car catches fire.
Seriously the gear feels comfy and confidence improving on track.
