Ordering parts from the US
Was thinking about abusing a) my credit card and b) the weak dollar, and buy some parts from the US for the car.
Now a Nur Spec-R exhaust for $580 (£270ish), a Prodrive 3 port boost solenoid for $90 (£45) and an APS Cold Air Intake for $265 (£140ish) - all seem very very tempting. (Plus, I dunno - $50-$60 shipping on that lot? 5% Customs duty, plus 17.5% VAT..)
But, and theres always a but.. how come everyone else isn't ordering parts from the US?
Anything I should be aware of?

Have ordered a few parts from across the pond myself and it will cost you more than $60 to ship that lot, more in the region of $150. Alot of companies will not ship outwith the continental USA so contact shop before hand. Also if anything gores wrong with parts your guarantee is with the shop in the US so you would have to return the goods there. I have in the past ordered the following from the states without any problems.
Injen Cold Air Intake(Celica)
TRD Exhaust (Celica)
TRD Lowering Springs (Celica)
APR Rear Diffuser (Subaru)
Work Emotion CR Wheels (Subaru)
Will order the Cusco T2 Front Lip in the New Year

I have bought quite a few parts for my split screen bus with no real problems.
Just make sure you pay by credit card and if anything goes wrong the credit card company are legally bound to refund youre money so you can't really go wrong.
I did order a £3k engine and the company folded but still got my money back with no questions asked.
