Default Grade A Breakers...

being totally unreasonable.... bought some rear discs on 4.10.07 emails went back and forth to make sure I got the right ones... any how I finally got time to fit the discs today and guess what they are the wrong ones. Emailed Grade A, they dont wanna know, even thought they are the ones who made the mistake!

Well now, that really surprises me.

I've bought quite a bit of stuff from them over the years and have always found them to be professional, helpful, and with excellent service.

Ordered stuff has always been correct, and it arrives VERY quickly.

I assume you have actually rung them, and spoken to someone before posting on here?

Can you explain further how it was THEIR mistake, after several e-mails?

i agree they are awesome at delivering parts. I too have ordered loads in the past. However this has happened. I emailed them 2hrs ago, they said fine send it back yourself I was like hang on, its your mistake so pick it up. They still refused. Then I get an email later saying, 'sorry just spoken to the boss no returns on items after two weeks'

But its their mistake. I told them my brake setup etc, and they confirmed via email etc. So I ordered them.

So basically they send wrong discs, I get charged and they dont wanna know. If I lived any closer...

I'm sorry about you strife - I would take out a small claim if you feel genuinely agreived.

But, can you tell me why you even thought about fitting secondhand braking parts ........ I am a tight fisted old git, but brakes always are new and expensive with me. NEW being the key word - what did it save you?

Good luck with sorting out the problem ....... but think about buying new?

i would agree with the above.after surviving a head on crash i would recommend nothing but new brake parts not worth the risk

I had a problem with Grade a when they supplied the wrong headlight to me,they gave me an import one when i needed a uk version.......

They collected at there expense and replaced with a brand new one at no extra cost!!!

Never heard a bad word about them......

Hope you get it sorted...

They are brand new discs! I needed a specific fitment and they were the only ones who said they could supply. I have 94wrx wagon with 2pot rears which require a certain disc size.

Doesn't surprise me ,depends what day you catch them on. On some occasions they want to be helpful on others they just don't give a sh#t and come across as very arrogant.

I had the same experience, was trying to source parts for my STi and they just didn't seem interested or bothered.

I ended up going to Jap Performance Parts and they were a world apart. Very professional, patient on the phone while I listed out what I needed and I was very specific about the parts I needed.

Got the items the next day neatly packaged and exactly as described. I think we are all human so we will come across that way sometimes but if your in the trade you can't afford to be an **** to your customers - reputations are made on this fact.

I ordered a new age wing mirror which turned up and was shaged had a load of play in the spring loaded mech. I had to send it back at my expense they then sent out another one which was fine apart from it didn't have the colour coded cover on it!!! It sounds trivial but i had to drive around in my freshly resprayed car with no wing mirror on it for a couple of weeks. Their attitute was arrogant and unopologetic the stroppy woman in the office even put the phone down on me when i tried to explain why i was annoyed. I wrote a letter of complaint about her attitude and got no reply.

**** poor outfit i will never use them again!!!

I tried to order from them some years ago, but their attitude was very arrogant and they couldn't care less.
So I didn't care either, and went elsewhere.

I ordered from APi instead, with a totally professional service.

Wouldn't use Grade A again, but now their poor service has been highlighted on here with many other dissatisfield customers, you may now get your problem solved.

Just a thought that there was some confusion in the emails.... as unless you have upgraded the rear brakes to later 2 pot versions as in sti models then you should have single piston rear brakes...... if you insisted that the car had 2 pot rear discs when it did not,and grade A sent 2 pot rear discs and not the standard versions req, then that might be the problem,or they have fixated on the year of car and sent appropriate discs for that model.....if this is bollox please feel free to ignore me,but all ive ever heard about grade A is good news...... hope it gets sorted though.

Arrogant is the right word. Expensive is another. They are both.

I`ve used `em a few times but due to their attitude I wont ever use `em again.

The rear brakes you have have been fitted as an upgrade as the 94 Wagon was never fitted with 2 pot calipers , has your car got the 170mm or 190mm handbrake shoes , if you check the disc size they should be 290mm.

I can supply discs to fit your car whatever size you have on them
Cheers Ian

Woops! Maybe NOT GradeA's fault entirely, then?

I think he mentions earlier he pointed out they were different. Although in cases like these one chap reads the email and tells another to get rear discs for a 94 wagon. The bit about them being for a 2 pot has the potential to get overlooked.

As for Grade A, never bought from them. Expensive and abrupt manner on the phone.

If you have the 190mm drum , then it sounds as thought you have a type R rear end , as the 290mm discs with a 190mm handbrake was only fitted to these.
I will PM you a price

Cheers Ian

There are always 2 sides to every story and Mr Malik has every right to voice his opinions but I would like to respond. The initial order was placed nearly 6 weeks ago and as the email stated it is 'complicated' and the disc size was given as 'a guide only' We suppied parts to the best of our ability with the information we were given. Unfortunately, there has been a misunderstanding over the returns. Our terms and conditions state that used parts should be fitted within 2 weeks of supply. I was not informed that these were new parts which fall under a different criteria.

Although it has now gone over the 28 days (in which new parts can be returned) if Mr Malik would care to ring me I am sure that I can sort this matter out amicably.
