Default Bugeye - Spec C or STi?

Hi,

Going to take a look at the following car soon but wanted to find out a bit more about it:

Subaru : STI Type RA

Being listed as a 01 Type RA, these must be rare as I am finding it hard to get any info on the motor. From what I have gathered these are the first batch of Spec C Type RA's with the non twin-scroll engine (forged pistons)?

hopefully I will have some knowledge on the motor before I go and check it out, from what I can tell it looks spot on and hasn't had many owners so might turn out to be a bargain (provided it's not thrashed to bits).

Adios,

Fz

Spec c's came in in 2002, the 2001 was just a type ra, the twin scroll cars have stronger engines than the 01/02 cars btw

2002 were spec c's, 2001 were type ra's, you can hardly see the slight alteration in the geo set up can you

You may find the RA/Spec C a little hardcore for everyday use. It will have been driven hard (nobody buys one of these and pootles along at thirty). However it will be an exhilirating drive to say the least.

I am giving this one a miss, the owner didn't seem to know too much about the car, has STi interior as apposed to the Type RA (a good thing probably), coilovers etc however there is a lot of soot on the exhaust.

When I asked him about a remap he didn't think it had one done since being in the country. It's the stock Type RA (non DCCD), still a good find I think, with a bit of TLC it could be back to top notch condition and make a great track or fast road car.

As for me, I have gone and bought a classic STi Type RA V-Limited so I am a happy chap
