2008 WRX have landed
The new 2008WRX is at Lockwood and Greenwood Nissan and Subaru, Manchester, UK in Manchester.
Phil Greenwood phoned me and sent me this picture of the car he has, by all accounts they are only bringing 500 into the country.
If you are in the Manchester area go down and have a look. He will also try and source any uk Subaru that you require if he doesnt have one in stock.
You can even get Subaru's on Mobility now, he was telling me that they have done one of the 1st Legacy Mobility cars in the country.

I thought Subaru had lost the plot over the bugeye. I was wrong that was just a practice run for alienating their client base and destroying the brand.
Not only is that a vile looking car from the angle in the photo but only bringing in 500 is commercial suicide.
I'm not displaying any great precognitive powers here by saying
a> that car will be restyled within a year meaning residual values drop like a stone
b>IM will drop their stupid self imposed limit when they realise they need to sell as many cars as possible to stave off going to the wall.
It's an ugly mess and a great shame-both the car and the business model.

Dear oh dear, what the hell is that
No wonder subaru kept us to mainly dark images of this car as it looks like a cheap korean hatchback with a bonnet scoop that doesn`t look right on a cheap looking car.
Please tell me this is just a bad dream and we will all wake up to something special that does the impreza brand justice.

Well we will wait and see.
Different people like different cars, or we would all be driving jelly moulds.
Remember everyone moaning about the Hawkeye.

Personally I think 500 will be quite enough, but the mail shot that I got from Subaru said only 500 this year and being has there's only about 8 weeks of this year left, I don't think they will struggle with stock levels !!
Funny thing is I have owned 2 new imprezza's over the last 5 years and suddenly i'm getting Flyers through the post, so its obvious its not going to be a winner lol !!!

Subaru must be making the Worlds biggest practical joke, right?
I never read much about the 08 Impreza - and a couple of weeks ago I just happened across a 'Fifth Gear' repeat. And nearly cried.
What the **** have they done?

Well Lockwood and Greenwood Nissan and Subaru, Manchester, UK have also taken delivery of one in Rally Blue. Spoke to Phil today and they are trying to get them ready ASAP, but due to a couple of engine failures coming in under warranty and other routine servicing needing doing they are a bit pushed at present.
At no point have I said I like or dislike this model but like a few I am awaiting to drive one and see an STI in the flesh and drive.
I will then give my views.
We are not all in the market for a new car, some like different models of every car.
I reserve judgement.

does anyone at ford know that they nicked a box of transit van wing mirrors for the 08 scoobs?
Anyway I think we should get together and sign a condolences card and send it to the design department for killing off the impreza legend.
I'm thinking of knocking up one of the microsoft word home made certificates, and calling it a 'certificate of crapness' and addressing it to the design department at fuji H.I. - with some choice words like, well done at being so **** at your job.

I've got to admit I'm *genuinly* worried that this'll be the end of Subaru. Seriously, unless some drastic changes are made they're sales are going to be absolutely appauling. Every review I've read says 'it's alright, but there are better cars for the same money'.... I was almost in tears when I read how a Golf GTi is a better handler and straight liner than the regular WRX!
