depends if your fitting it yourself or getting it fitted for you, cheapest fitted i found was Scooby Clinic | The UK's Largest Independent Subaru Specialists | 01246 590 807 - Chesterfield S42 6QX

Just fitted an autobahn 88 on my99 classic. took me and a mate about 2-3 hours plus time to cut the bumper. Was alot easier than i thought it would be.
The kit came with everything i needed and an instruction manual for when we got stuck. you should be o.k as long as you have a basic understanding of mechanics and a bit of common sense.
Go for it

The Autobhan 88 is a copy of the Hybrid GT FMIC.
The Hybrid core is tube and fin and therefore gives less of a pressure drop than a bar and plate core. This is important if you want best performance. It is however more expensive to manufacture.
All the Autobhan FMICs I have seen have been the bar and plate.

Wee bit of a hijack here, but same MY car same subject
I have a 99 Uk turbo. Its decatted with lightened flywheel, comp clutch. What king or torque/bhp increase can be expected from one of the Autobahn bar and plate FMIC's - oh and what do they cost?
I used to service my own cars, still do brake pads etc - is it a simple enough job for someone with my basic mechanical skills?
Finally, I assume (correct me if I am wrong) that if I want to maximise the benefit of the FMIC I should remap - but as I have a knocklink and guages i should know right away if I have detting/overboost and hopefully prevent a big problem. But I wouldnt HAVE to remap -( is that correct)?

Don't fit an FMIC unless you are prepared to remap.
A Knock Link does not monitor AFRs. Weak AFRs could result in a nipped piston. As a minimum, get someone to check out your fueling with a wide band meter. You may get away with it but it is a risk and what is the point fitting a performance enhancement if it is not optimised by mapping to your new conditions.
