Hello ALL,

Has anyone ever had a bit of a race on the road against either of the above ? how did the scoob fair ? With over 300 bhp I was wondering if either of these beasts were any good ? anyone ever own one/test drive one ?

No swearing please for me asking this question.......heheheh..ta!!!

The M coupe and roadster are *VERY* quick cars, and tricky-grip situations aside, will give any Scoob a serious run for its money. I had a bit of a play in a old coupe (321hp model) with a friend in a 300hp+ STi4 and apart from 0-30ish, the M Coupe just pulled away - the newer engined one will be even quicker It also out handles the Impreza (although apparently the roadster doesn't fair so well) although the grip advantage of AWD will help the impreza keep up on the twisties.

IIRC, Clarkson did a drag race with a M Coupe, 22B, Evo6 and Alfa GTV V6. The M Coupe left the other standing, with the 22B a similar amount ahead of the Evo and the Alfa left well behind (but with FWD and only 220hp - no real surprise!!)

Hello m8, my friend at work has a Z3 coupe M.I ve driven it,ive also raced an M3 321 not a Z3 though..My scooby is 345bhp at the moment.I have to say that its quick.But not as quick as my scooby.When i had a race with that M3 from standing...after 60 miles i was well gone(over a car)..Now when i ve driven the coupe didnt feel as quick as my scoob.(hehe). I have to admit when i had 300bhp i couldnt beat the m3 evo...when my car was standard 260...M3 was well ahaid of me...unless uve got over 300bhp dont mess about with them..

Racing on the road is illegal however I sat in a Z3M Roadster round the 'ring and they are extremely fast motors, with an engine note to die for...
