Default What additions for more performance

My03 STI is a farely rapid motor but I am considering a bit more power/torque.

It currently runs about 340/305.

What would be required to make around 360/350 reliably.

Why is the current torque low in comparison to others ?(Powerstation rollers)

Thanks.

If you are still running the VF35 then you need another turbo

A lot of people on here have gone down the 20g turbo route on UK 03sti's.

I find that RCM headers or similar (Lateral , Zen etc ) are very useful for punching up the midrange torque...
Headers , RCM induction kit and remap should see you to 350ish with 340 torque....

I take it these headers would be "equal length" therefore eliminating the burble ?

What power is expected with the 20g turbo. Is this the turbo that Andy F does a part ex for ?

I have a remapped 03STi/VF35 but kept a ppp cat on it and get 328/300. Adam at SC reckons the modest torque is due to keeping the cat. It flies on the road. Beware of a bigger turbo giving you better figures but with poorer response in the real world.

No , they are unequal and the burble not only remains but is much harder and stronger at high rpm....

The 18g upgrade is the best compromise. I feel it is only marginally slower to spool than the VF35, but gives a better kick. Circa 370bhp.

A 20g circa 390bhp, is even more of a compromise, spools a little later. That might be your thing though.

Depends on budget as well i guess.
