Default DO I need any Cats?

Car is on an N plate, but the applied model number is GF8B58P ? Doesn't that make it a 1994 and therefore not needing any cats for MOT?

Where's GC8 when you need him?

He knew the model numbers like his families birthdays, probably better.

Don't think taking a cat along for the mot will help
Besides it will probably scratch the mechanic and end up getting its a*se kicked

Its on an N plate but its a 94?? N plates are 96....

My old civic was a 96 JDM and that still needed the cat for an mot. I was always under the inpression it was pre 92 that don't need cats? My old crx delsol was a 92 on a K plate and although it had a cat it didn't need to have emissions test.

Its a grey area isnt it? The cars a 1994 build and if it had been registered as such then it wouldnt need to take a cat test. Because its year of first use is recorded as 1996 then youre going to struggle to avoid the later catalytic converter test.

I have a 2001 JDM bugeye v7. Do I need a Cat for the MOT?
Have always put one on for the MOT but a mechanic recently told me that I would not need one? Would it pass with a full decat being that is an import?

Any advice appreciated.

You only need to be able to pass the emissions test, you dont have to have a catalytic converter fitted. Unfortunately the non-specific test is almost as strict as the model-specific test and you will need a cat to meet the requirement.

Yeah, I was thinking I may speak to the DVLA, but then my car may end up on a Q plate or something silly

Think ill just leave it and put a CAT on at MOT time! Mates just bout a skyline and i want to try to get to 300bhp before he comes home mid November
