Interesting to see how the plastic manifold performs, it could be very free flowing and shouldn't transfer much heat.

IIRC Also has quad cam VVT (previously only dual Cam)

I think that redline is still 7Kpm on 2.5ltrs STi's and 2.oltr WRX's and 8Krpm on 2.0ltr JDM's. The marking just start 500rpm earlier

Although it does have a "E" button and pressed on the "Fly" can instantly change between Performance and economical ECU setting The STi has "SI" drive, "VCD" & DCCD

IMHO

having driven the S-GT a few months back, you'll definately what the 18" package, spring kit and a ECU tweak. certainly more tweakable than previous "WRX's"

Plus it will probably crack if there is too much boost, as the BMW 330d does if you remap it.

Terrible!! Looks like a mongrel crossbreed of all sorts of mediocre cars! The STI might get away with it with widened body but this WRX really is crap. PUNY!!!

Trying to learn a lesson from the introduction of new models in the past, most people don't like change and then it grows on you. However apart from the dash I can't find anything nice to say about the 2008 WRX.

The hawkeye has all the bits that made a STi special a few years ago, like vents in the bumper, twisty side sills, zenons, upside down struts etc.
I wouldn't change my hawkeye for one of those even if Subaru offered me a straight swap.

Does that mean Hawkeye owners can look forward to good residual values ?

Only if the new STi doesnt sell That will be all decided by it's performance and Price

Will the "Hot hatch" market that pay £22-25K step up and pay £27-31K and go to top of Tax bracket , as enthusiasts have done, to own a Scooby.

IMHO

I doubt it.

The new Impreza is growing on me (STI only ) but I can't see people spending £27-31k for a hot hatch

My first post so be gentle.

As people have said it depends on performance etc.

I am looking to upgrade from my MkV GTI next year and if the new STI is anything like the old one in performance I will be paying that level of money as it knocks spots off the R32 (which I guess they are competing with).

I didn't buy a Subaru because of the looks, but that is something else.
I just wouldn't be seen dead in it.
Big thumbs down.

OMG! Here's hoping that someone from Subaru GB might occasionally pass an eye over our much respected forum.

SUBARU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THIS LOOKS LIKE AN ABORTION CROSS OF A BMW 1 SERIES AND A KIA CEE'D (? SPELLING?)

I love my MY04 WRX for its looks, performance and just missing the Band G Road tax!

The new "derivative" only has the performance and that's debatable ' cos' the 2.5 sounds sihte, in my humble opinion.

If they thought they had it wrong with the bugeye let's watch these fly off the shelves!

And me, but holding the steering wheel will count and grin factor will count more than looks
