Collecting new WRX on Saturday

Collecting new WRX on Saturday
I am off to Hull to collect my new WRX (not the new shape ) on Saturday.
Anything i need to do? Do i need to make up a sign to put in the back window:
"Running in please pass!"
How low have I got to keep the revs and how slow have I got to go for the first 1000 miles?
Anything I should be checking over on the car apart from the bodywork when I collect it?
Thank you

They recommend a max of 4k rpm for 1000 miles, which in mine was just over 100mph in 5th, so you may not need the 'running in' sign!
Seriously, though, I agree with the 50% suggestion (3500rpm), but I wouldn't go near the red line in the 1st 1000 miles.

I took it fairly easy in mine, for the first 1000 or so miles til the first oil change.
Always a nice suprise when you give it a bootful for the first time.
Other than going easy, enjoy it mate. They are gutsy from low down revs anyway, so no worries about using a running in sign or anything.

82,000 miles on and I think I am reaping the benefits of the first 1,000 miles of low revs driving ............... mind you, I rarely take mine over 3000 RPM anyway!

You wont regret it at all!!
As for running in, as some have said, keep it below 4000rpm for the first 1000miles, which go by quickly, and you will be fine. The car drives well below this anyway so running in isnt as bad as it sounds
Enjoy it

If it's from Motor Depot make sure the car has what they advertise. In their ads they were stating items like tracker and window etching but the cars they supplied did not have them.

Still got a big grin 24 hours a fter collecting it,
Had a huge grin on my face last night all the way home!
I have already clocked up 300 miles (managed to get 30mpg on the motorway home) only 700 hundred to go, its going to be difficult keeping it under 4000 rpm!
If any one is hesitating dont! They are great!
All brands new only have about 10 WRX'x left (STI's already sold out!)
i am off to buy a new speed detector before i get in trouble.......

Nice one mate. I picked mine up from Peterborough, then straight over to Southend to my mates bodyshop for the once over, then home to London, then out to Southend that night too.
So had about 5-600 on the clock by the end of the first 24 hours lol
Glad you like it, they are indeed lovely
Let us know how its going

Enjoy the grin, although I'm not sure you ever loose it! My 4th Scooby in 8 years should be ready on Thursday, WRC Blue saloon (non-STI ), ex-demo, 6 months old......bargain price. So that's a classic wagon, blobeye wagon and saloon and a new age saloon. NO I won't be buying Hyudai/Suzuki/Daihatsu clone pseudo Scooby to complete my set! I'd struggle to buy anything elsebut a Scooby, so beware, they're addictive!
