The good mate of mine is looking for a team to go in on the Silverstone Karting day.

He's one of the best kart drivers I know of, so should be an asset to any team although he does lack the Dave TS 'Red Baron' racing overalls.

Anyone care to take him in?

BTW BH

Any charges for specators?
I think a fiver per spectator. Proceeds go to Simons world record fund.

Richard,

Top Man!!

I'm seeing Harj tonight, so will no doubt get his fat *** into a karting seat following the tour. Guess that puts my allocation to 4 people instead of just 3. Is that OK? I'll e-mail you and get a cheque off this week.

Cheers

Matt - no problem! Team of 4 it is. Extra ballast will slow you down

Neil - interesting idea. What does everyone else think? I think maybe a voluntary donation of £5 towards Simon's fund, in consideration of the Jordan tour perhaps? What are other people's thoughts on this?

Can't believe I've got 50 people signed up in 24 hours!

Cheers

One of the non-SIDC guys I was going to ask is away snowboarding and won't be back till Sunday, so I can't say yes or no till after then.

If the demand is there for places from SIDC members before then, then I'll understand if you want to give those to them (although me and my mate met doing karting at school and he'd love the F1 tour!!)

Hmm. Right, well, we're over-subscribed already (ridiculous!) so I'm going to have to ask Jeff Wiltshire and DHarbige if they could do the gallant thing and have teams of four instead of two. I know you were quick off the mark guys, but I want to offer this chance to as many people as I can, which means filling all of the teams to capacity. I can't make it a 3hr one as it'll be very cold, unfair on spectators and unfair on those who are travelling a significant distance, and would put food off until too late IMHO. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this but the response has been so huge that I have no choice.

Sorry to have to put my foot (very gently) down but I'm sure you'll understand my reasons.

Thanks
Richard

Ricki? Your team of 4 is in the list!? It's just the two guys I gave that I have to be extra apologetic to

rnr: Yep, you're in - check out the list above...

If anyone does need to cancel at any point, then I need as much notice as possible so I can offer the place to the next person. Obviously I'll return your cheque, as long as I can find a replacement - which shouldn't be a problem I suspect

Cheers

Rich - OK I got confused by your post asking Dave/Jeff to make their teams up to 4 not 2 thinking that was to make up for my team no going.

I will let you know as soon as I do. Do you have reserves to step in case?

Incidentally, do you know Carl Beddard? I think he is an electrician with the Jordan team.

Ok peeps, I have now identified a suitable place to finish our day. It's the Mill House pub, in Braunston near Daventry. It's about 15 mins away, by the back roads to get there I've made a preliminary booking for about 40 of us, but I'll need to know exact numbers nearer the time. I'll also post the menu so that we can get the food booked in advance.

This place also does B&B for those who are interested. Dave Mackey - perhaps you might want to consider cancelling the Travelodge and staying here instead?

Roll on Feb 17th

Cheers

Right - sorry about any confusion, our team will now be me, Yex, Chris L AND Mutant Matt. Matt originally put down for a team, but will now join us and that will free up a whole team elsewhere.

Carolyn to spectate, and Sal, plus factory tour for them, will check if Yex and Matt are bringing their respective missuses.

Bitten - no problem with adding another two to our team, but we could do with some good drivers to make up for my monumental lack of tallent.

ANYBODY WANT TO JOIN OUR TEAM?

Incidentally, what do people think of the idea of doing name stickers? We keep talking about doing it at other big meets (e.g. SIDC AGM) but we've never actually done it...

I don't mind doing it if people are happy to wear them

I don't need a name sticker Some people know what I'm on about and some will find out on the day m8

Hopefully, this will also fix the BBS Error....
