Default Exhaust for Hawkeye WRX 2007

Can anyone advise whats the best exhaust for a 2007 wrx?

I want something that creates a nice rumble with out rattling my neighbours windows. Would also be good if it didnt burst my eardrums at 90mph on the motorway.

Ive got no idea where to start so any pointers i nthe right direction will be great!

The Prodrive backbox sounds right up your street

...I can't be doing with ultra loud exhaust pipes either

i have a 2006 STI (view my scooby) and currently have a TSL deresonated centre section and TSL Group N Backbox on it...

i think that would be exactly what you would be looking for...

its quiet on tick over, when u put your foot down u can hear the burble but its not too loud, certainly not going to bother your neighbours anyway! and its great on the motorway...

im currently changing my backbox for a vortex afterburner though because i want more burble

heres the link to TSL's online shop: TSL MOTORSPORT | Subaru Mitsubishi Classics | performance tuning | parts | repair | servicing | UK

i notice the vortex is a bit big (4.5")

i allways though that with exhausts, if they were too big they actually had a detrimental effect on performance and were just to sound good

Just been through this with a 3" miltek. I went for decat and it sounded great but the drone on the motorway was really bad. Ended up having the miltek sports cat fitted. It is perfect now. Very similar to my old prodrive setup but with more burble at low revs and a great souund when opening it up. Cruising now is much better with no drone.

oh, have a look at scoobyworlds new race box. It seems to be like a prodrive box i.e.more subtle than the vortex and ninja.

I went with a Magnex cat back system. Not so loud that it will scare old people but it allows the nice burble, it also fits very nicely into the bumper filling the gap around the current exhaust.

Its reasonable too at less than £300 for the system!

View my scoob, its not the best angle and you will have to zoom, but you will see what im saying.

I think you should really speak to Hayward & Scott. I've had my second scoob done there recently and wouldn't consider going anywhere else for an exhaust. It's superbly made stuff and they can tailor the noise to what you want.

Nige.

I've got a RaceBox on mine (Hawkeye). Its nice and subtle below 3000rpm, sounds fairly standard but with a quiet burble. Makes a nice pronounced roar after this and it fine for the motorway. I bought it for the same reasons that I wanted it to sound good when I was on the go, but didnt want to attract attention when i was tootling around.

Its also very well finished and polishes up nicely plus quite good value too I think. Also, its not much bigger than the standard pipe so doesnt look too in boy racer like either. Anyway, recommended from me if that helps?!

Heres the link http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog..._id=76#racebox
