Default Confused... Know you can help

The car tax.....

Had a query from a friend looking at buying a Sub asking how much the tax is.... well currently mine is 112-75 for 6 months..... and I think its a group F

He had ben told that it was going nearer £800 ....

Well Ive searched on here and there seems to be some confusion...

From what I can see all new (06/07) Subs and after will be classed at the higher G rate.

Can somebody shed some light on this please

Thanks in advance

There again if you worked out the mpg and the tax then it would be Autotrader time (once got asked... answered if I had to work it out I couldnt afford to run the Scoob)

Goto DVLA Online Vehicle Licensing | Home , use Vehicle Enquiry, enter Plate & Make and it will bring up the cost

I think you will find it is actually from March last year, a specific date but I can't remember what it is. Mine was registered towards the end of march 06 and is in group G.

Just sneeze when you write the cheque, write the number quickly and then you won't notice. Its not like its going to stick out compared to the rest of the yearly costs for you car.

Unfortunately my Spec C was first registered in july this year and even though it is a 2005 car it is still in the 300/400 price bracket just as well my insurance is reasonable

Ouch! Mine was registered on the 30th March so 7 days is going to cost me £3/400 next year. Really doesn't pay to go for 6 months when it is this steep. Ah well, quite cheap insurance for me too considering it is a group 20 so can't complain too much.

What does annoy me is I am being taxed more for being a so called polluter but I only use it at weekends and use public transport during the week, meaning I am probably less of a polluter than someone driving a 1.2 as a daily. Go figure...

totally get your point, they should be paying us not to use them as often, rather than charging us more to drive them around.

If im paying more than anyone else for tax, im going to try to use my car more often since im paying for it. And we must also own more road than anyone else too since we are paying more towards it!

Ive been to Southern irelend three times and have no problem finding shell stations with V Power (97 ron)

2.0l =€540 (£377?)

Thats about equal with us now, im sure will we suppase you

Also your petrol, i was paying 97 cents a ltr if i remember last year (about 65p)

But most of all the roads cost me a wheel alignment as there doesnt seem to be a single unpotholed road out there
