Default STI 2004 Blobeye - How many CATS and where?

I'm confused...

The other night I was informed that the STI does not have a CAT in the up-pipe? So then where are the two CATS on an STi?

I have a straight through 3 inch system from the rear silencer to my up pipe and I see no CATs, but my friend said only one CAT has been decatted...

Help!

As standard, there will be a Cat in your down-pipe (the pipe going from your turbo to center section) and a cat in the center section just after the down-pipe before the center link pipe.

As above for a UK car, a JDM is different and its just 1 cat in the downpipe
If the car is fully decatted then I would suggest not ragging her, get her mapped as it could save you alot of money in the near future (engine rebuild @ 3-3.5k)

The up-pipe is the piece that goes from Manifold to Turbo. I think you are confusing that with the down-pipe which is as described above and does have a Cat in.

STI's dont have a cat in the up pipe, that was the wrx, STI's have 2, down pipe and centre section, JDM STI's have 1 in the downpipe (just for reference )
Think they no longer put the up pipe cat in the wrx's due to the ammount that failed and shattered the turbo with the debris... wasnt exactly a good design

PS not pointed at you Badman
