Default Why don't Toffs drive Saburu's ?

Just a quick but valid point, Saburu's are great cars, fast reliable, well built etc.

Now im studying the knowledge of london therefore im up and down every street in london everyday.

The very weathy area's (and the poor but thats obvious) never have scoobys parked outside. i find this a bit strange.

ive prolly been down most streets in the posh parts, ie: chelsea, kensington, hampstead and so on.

and its bm's, merc's, audi's, etc almost as if they are programmed.

It's like ok i have a load of cash im upmarket therefore lets get a german posh car i know nothing about.

Why the lack of scoobys where are there ?

Lord Blanford has a Type-25, or he did before he got banged up for motoring offences

Well, so do I, don't you know! Thought it would be a jolly wheez to give such a common jallopy a try. Must say, old bean, that pretending to be one of those "chav" type fellows is a real hoot! Certainly given the old grey matter a bit of an exercise I must say, getting my head around all these Jappo car names. before this, I used to think an Itchy Fanny was a Jap motorbike!

Who said the "toffs" lived in those areas? Town toffs and its all about "bling" but with country toffs then they appreciate a car that goes

My neighbour has an ML merc but also has i 500bhp cossie!

I think the attraction of the Scooby to alot of people is how cheap they are relative to the amount of power they have. People that can afford to spend silly, silly money on a quick car will just do so, which I'm guessing is why they aren't bothered about buying a Subaru.

They don't know what they're missing out on

For starters they are missing out on crappy low spec plasticky interiors, wafer thin easy dent body panels, high fuel consumption and insurance, boy racer image and gay gold wheels!

I work in a very posh part of London, most people here believe it gives a boy racer image therefore they stay far away from it. A lot of the folks around here are also snobbish towards cars like Boxsters etc...

Proper toffs will have a variety of motors to choose from (assuming they spend their money on cars). Maybe a hybrid to go to London in, (waves at the mayor ) A Range Rover or conversion to go Grouse Shooting in... An open top to go out on a Sunday in the summer to a public house for luncheon.

^^^Where does the above leave room for a scoob? Only ones who will have one are the petrolheads that like them. And there'll be a similar percentage of Toff petrolhead Impreza lovers as there are in the general population.

They have probably never heard of them, just like me. Subaru's on the other hand .......

(Sorry had to do it, 22 post and no ones mentioned it)

TBH its got to be down to image. If I ever made it big time, I'd still be going Jap and modding. None of this buying a top spec Porsche only to have the same or less power than Scoobies at a fraction of the cost. I suppose if you were always rich then you'd never consider a Scoob's. But if you grew up on that sort of thing, you'd still have a place for it somewhere.

If I had loads of money I'd get a modded german car Ruff Porsche or MTM Audi or something.

I have to disagree with the thread some what, Certain areas of the country "toff's" do have subarus yes they may have the lexus, bmw, auston martins but they do actually run around also in day to day cars.
Just some people don't realise they toff's as they also drive normal cars!.

If by subaru's are you meaning the brand in general or just imprezas as i know a lot of what you describe as "toffs" that do own and use foresters on their estates, excellent cars for shooting and other toff activities lol
