Newbie question

Im thinking of buying a WRX, 4dr, A/C, 60k miles with full body kit for 12995, is this a good price? also anyone know how difficult is it to get it serviced? (i live in newcastle). Oh and lastly, general repairs etc, are garages that will repair wrxs and are the parts easy enough to find?
Cheers,
Al.

I'm in Newcastle as well, noisy silver legacy turbo in case you ever see (or hear) me.
I agree with frisby, 12995 is a bit on the expensive side. Is it the facelifted model? If so for a private sale I would say around 9-10K. If not, about 8-9K depending on condition, service history etc. For a trader I would add an extra grand on top.
Only my opinion, others are bound to disagree...
Oh, Revolution in Gateshead do parts and servicing etc.
They dont have a site yet (I think), but you can get their address etc from here: http://www.revolution-motorstore.co.uk/

Whoa!
For less than 12995 I'd sell you my 1998 "R" Reg Scoob WRX STi Version 4 Type R (The 2 door model)!
Have a look at Top Marques or run a search on http://autotrader.co.uk (and also look in the for sale section on the scoobynet)
You'll get an idea of what the going rate is for a 'rex of that age...
Cheers!
Ross.

yes, it is the face lift version then! and aye its bebside. So you think i should be asking for 10k then? be very surprised if they take it mind you.
done a quick auto trader search, couple of '97 P's seems that 11995 is avg trader price. Theres 94 M's in there for 10k/11k too!
and hey Ross, id be interested ;-).. hmmm insurance..

Nice one legacyPete...
But worth noting that although the exterior got a facelift on the 96 "P", it wasn't till '98 before the Scoob got the (better) Forester interior (Which seems to be preferable in most circles...)
Cheers,
Ross.

Insurance?
It's up actually from last year.....It was 640 f/c!!!!!!!!
The policy is with Privilege...I've been with them for a while and undertook the short lived BSM Advanced Driver Training offer they had going...Best 40 quid I've spent - Your premium reduces at 10% every year thereafter! They also factored in that my first car was a Lotus Elan SE Turbo, and that I'd drove that for 2 years without spading it
Of course, ultimately, postcode code is the factor....
For reference, I was quoted 440 f/c for a UK Turbo, 530 for a Import WRX and 640 for a Type R! (No P1's about back then...) Kinda made my decision on which model to get...
(Although from what I hear, they're not as competitive for new business as they used to be...!)
Cheers,
Ross.
