Just picked up an my06 wrx maltese import for not a bad price. On the way home on the motorway we noticed the car seems to bounce or bobble over bumps almost like the suspension is way too hard. We ended up feeling nauseous after about half an hour. This was in heavy traffic doing about 70ish.

In comparison my uk my03 wrx seems more compliant and gives a much smoother ride without any bouncyness. Have done plenty of motorway and fast road without ever getting travel sick.

It has re050s on it so I tried swapping the wheels over with my 53plate which has avon ZR3s but this didnt make any difference.

Is it possible that some euro cars have different suspension or is it just that 06 models have stiffer springs?

I'm going to take a look at the springs and shocks tomorrow when it is light to see if there is any difference between the two. Anyone know if they are different?

Unlike your 03 WRX it has inverted Struts like the STi, although in both my 53WRX and MY06 STi motorway warble reigned supreme at around 70mph. Best cure I found was Prodrive springs.

Mine was simular, as said they have had some suspension changes since the 53. They also have a wider track.

Had Eibach springs and fast road geometry on mine and know it drives like a dream. It is a bit of a hard ride though, almost winded myself the other day hitting a dip in the road at high speed

Prodrive springs will help a lot but ASTs will transform it and gets around the inevitable knocking strut problem. Admittedly another £1000 on top of the springs alone but is worth every penny.

yup agree with the above comments. I changed my springs and it settled down - much better.

What did most people fit then? prodrive?

Subaru have got them on the site for £225 without fitting.

eibach springs for me. seemed to be the be the best value/perfomance ratio and have no complaints so far

Im pretty sure the Prodrive springs are made by Eibach?? As far as i know they are the same, and the Eibach ones are about £180ish.

pretty sure mike wood has said on here there made by eibach to prodrives spec, not the same as the springs eibach sell for the wrx Also wrx springs come with new bumpstops which i don't think eibachs do.

Cheers Sandy, been doing some reading and it seems that prodrive do have them made to their own spec. Don't know if it is true or not but there isn't a huge price difference so I think I'll go for the pd ones.

Cheers tone. I might have been looking in the wrong places but most web sites list eibachs for up to 05 only. So it seems to be easier to get hold of prodrive ones anyway.

warranty wise you may find you need new stuts at somepoint so its worth going with approved products for now. I did but actually quite like the Tein S set up as it seems to ride lower.
