Default Impreza wanted????

Hi guys and gals

I am new to this forum and am looking to buy a Subaru. At the moment i am running a S2 RS turbo but think the time has come to move on. Does anyone know of any nice classic imprezas for sale. I am looking for about 1999 (may consider earlyier ones)saloon in nice condition not really bothered about it being modified (exhaust would be nice) as want to try and keep it pretty standard. Service history would be good and hopefully a uk car. Not really bothered about colour but a blue one would be nice. Got £4000 cash for the right car (can go up a little if tempted). Have been looking around for the last few weeks but canot find any around and didnt have the cash for the ones i did find but now have the cash so what ya got.

Regards Steve

The red one 2nd down

Buy a used SUBARU IMPREZA - Auto Trader UK

Should be the sort of car your after, this is up north though so depends where you are but they are around, also HPI it (RAC do this for 5 quid and it does work )
You also dont have to buy the first one you see, lots out there, though lots of dogs and crashed repaired too.

Thanks that is the kind of car i am looking for but dont want to jump at the first one i see. I am based in Stockport Manchester so not that far away. Also have the luxury of being able to look at a few cause i will be off work in two weeks so got to go and look at as many as i can unless one comes up on here.

Steve,

IMHO £4k is a tad optimistic for a '99 or later car in good condition - you'll get a straight '96-97 model no problem. The newer interior came in for '98, and '99 and '00 got an updated engine and ECU.

Take a look at PistonHeads Classifieds - a new Impreza pops up for sale there on average every hour, so you'll have plenty to choose from. Make sure you get to look at a few before taking the plunge, there are some total dogs out there.

It's also worth thinking carefully at this stage about whether you want a UK model (badged "Turbo 2000"), or a Japanese import (WRX or STI).

That is a mint car and i would love to own it but that would strech my budget right to the limit. Will certainly see ifi can get some more money from somewhere as that car would be perfect.

I've got one up for sale, I could be persuaded to drop the price for a good buyer...
