Girl in need of help!!
Hi All,
My car is leaking oil quite considerably, think it might be the crankshaft seal, probably both, and where the oil is dripping onto the manifold the car is smoking, really doesn't look hot!!
Plus i might need a 'knock'? sensor, Subaru quoted me £110!! Apparently mine is a JAP import, although doesn't state it on the logbook. Does anyone know where i can either get this sensor cheap, or where might be best to get the crank shaft seal done?
Please help!!
Thanks
Gemma

Look at the VIN plate (metal plate, passenger side suspension turret) for the applied code (http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html).
To answer your question though if you could post your general area then people can point you in the direction of your local good specialist.
Rocker cover gaskets are known to go and drip oil.

If the oil is going onto the mnaifold(s) its most likley the cam (no rockers on an EJ!) cover gaskets, which is a much cheaper and quicker job!

If it's a sport I doubt it's an import very much... as said where about's in the country are you as there are good specialists spread about the place.
Also have a look on .:ImprezaSport.net:. loads of sport owners on there
No need to be paying dealer prices these days.
