Default Knock link price?

Hey,

Where is the best place to get a knock-link for a good price?

Cheers,

Why do you need one on a New Age car?

I'm no expert but I thought that the car would look after itself as far as det. is concerned.

Lose power? Why would the car lose power when it's only attached to a sensor and then the unit itself

Why do I need one? Just so I can keep a check on things, I don't want to think all is hunky dory if I've got any det.

I think the new age car's ECU is much more efficiant at detecting and correcting than the classic is able to SD but here's some info for you...

KnockLink

KnockLink — Link Engine Management Systems - plug-in & wire-in aftermarket ECU's

A Detalarm is a cheaper alternative (and neater looking). I have one and it's smaller than the Knocklink. roojai on here sells them. Got mine for around £70 a year ago.

Save your money ......

If they do pick up tappet noise then they are even MORE useless than I believed previously .......

I might be wrong but i thought they were linked to the ecu and retarted the ignition if they picked up det and so ive heard tappet noise, if that happened you would lose power.

No thats the cars original knock sensor, not a bolt on knock link, and it may loose power when it detects knock, but not as much power as you loose with the ventilated piston that will inevitably follow serious knock!

Please refrain from making technical comments as fact until you actually have the first clue (specualte by all means, but make it clear its speculation!)- it only adds to the confusion!
