Doubt very much a TD04L could produce 300bhp without methanol or NOS.

The limit is the exhaust turbine denoted by the TD04 'L'

It's just too small to let 300bhp escape. I know through having my own hybrid TD04s built.

I've ended up with a TD04 with bigger exhaust turbine and compressor, which means it's no longer a TD04'L'.

It's great, over 300bhp/ftlbs excellent low down torque and even a substantial improvement off boost.

However I changed the turbo 5 times with 3 different hybrid designs due to poor machine workmanship from a dunce who took me for a ride.

It's a great road turbo now, but I suggest you just buy a TD04 Hybrid unit from Andy F.

whats the difference between the TD04 and the TD04L?
I have a TD04 and im around 300bhp.
It ran in at 280bhp an sincve then i've had a miltek de-cat downpipe, new headers (cant remember what make) and the boost has been raised from 0.7 to 1.0 bar

Didnt tracktive manage just over 300 on TD04 on their demo car that was featured in the mags?... had a reversed inlet and front mount with a mappable ecu fitted though.

I only know of one person with that 300bhp on a TD04, and he had to really go to town on heat managment and air flow to get that figure...

Its actually not that hard, just rare, I have had three cars run just over 300 (310 highest) on a TD04, depends if the turbo is good enough and has the right mods to allow the boost to stay up above 6k. You don't need a front mount or anything at that level but a decent set of right sized headers helps. One of the three had headers, the other two had std ones, decat, fuel pump, panel filter and remap on V Power or Tesco 99 then if it all comes together bingo.
