Default The sound of the 2.5 Impreza's from inside.

Is it just mine (and something wrong with it) or is there a slight exhaust noise which almost sounds like a blowing manifold under light acceleration ?

Had to describe really, but you know the uneven noise a McLaren SLR makes.... A bit like that.

Mine does that too !! Anything to worry about ? I had PPP done about 3 weeks ago and I wondered whether the exhaust was blowing...

Sounds wierd for a car to come sounding like that from factory.

Was the PPP worth it ?

Had my MY06 PPP'd as its the only one that appears not to invalidate the warranty

Was certainly worth it - sounds so much better and the low end torque has improved

Is yours a UK spec mate ?
Still unclear on PPP for EU cars, but apparently various other countries are being added to the accepted list of honoured warranties for PPP

Do you not think the PPP is a bit overpriced? I almost went down that route due to warranty concerns myself... but am risking it as doing it after market gets better results at a fraction of the cost.

If my engine blows up in the next year and a half I will of course retract this

lol 1700 quid and to still be covered by warranty... For a brand new car.... nope I think its ok lol.

But I do agree with your point in general.
PPP is also a sensible increase for some, just to add grin factor, without cringe factor when it pops, or sad factor when you see the fuel consumption.

Personally, PPP will do me fine for now

I'm only taking mine to around 340BHP with a remap, upgraded exhaust and fuel pump so not much difference to the PPP to be honest. Half the price but the added risk of course.

WRX or STi ?
Where you getting it done ?

I know what you mean, and know some tuners offer their own warranties on their work, but a warranty is only as good as someones honesty really I guess.
So unless you can prove its covered, its always a hopeful thing

STI. Planning on taking it up to see Andy F later in the year. So Subaru warranty only really good for another year after that as 06 car.

Fair play mate. Depending on the mileage at the end of my ones 3 years, im either selling and starting again (depending if I like the new WRX by then lol) or doing something similar.

Im only starting with a WRX so got further to go than you lol.

Would still love to know an explaination on the exhaust noise on the 2.5 though.
