I beat the police (for once someone has!)
21 months ago (thats nearly 2 years!) i was alledge to be doing 39 in a 30 zone. So Cheshire Safety Camera Partner ship sent me the nip etc, and i challanged it, asked for the pics and video which i recieved, so to cut a long story short.....
the case was dismissed on monday, the reason..............
The prosecution had no evedence to present.......
just shows doesn't it, if you challenge them and follow it through you can win.
So just need to put my application for cost in, and tell the local paper ( i wonder how many others where sent NIPs on the day and just paid up)!

on the video it had an 'ERROR 03' reading next to my speed...
that means 'unstable reading due to panning off target'
so it shouldn't have even been sent out to me!

There are many ways to fight this money making crap, see PePiPoo: Helping the motorist to get justice not advocating speeding in built up areas though, that is naughty.
Glad you got off mate.

I know you hear of this all the time...but a guy I work with has been sent a NIP after getting snapped by a speed camera van 3 times in about as many years. Each time he's ignored it and hasn't been prosecuted to date.

Not a BiB myself but I would suggest changing the title. You got done over by the Scameratti Pratnerships, not the fuzz, (most) coppers would hate to classed in the same sentence as those bunch of oxygen thieves.

And its exactly this type of thing that shows what a total con the whole camera thing is. They attempt to prosecute you using faulty equipment; and a whole bunch of potentially innocent people have received points and assocated costs because of these inept, corrupt "partnerships"

I asked for photo evidence from Suffolk when I knew I was exceeding and after 6 months they just dropped the case - can't have been that good evidence
A chap I know thought he was clocked by Norfolk in his Ferrari at well over the ton, was delighted to receive a NIP for 85, so he coughed.
Strange that it was the same speed as I Wonder whether there is a "speed" that people are prosecuted for when its obvious they were going fast and people just accept?

Nice one mate
Got done in Cambridge a while back in my little Rover of all things, it was late at night going over a four lane bridge over the Cam(now houses, no people, no anything let alone the "moderate traffic" the police stated there was at 10 on a week night), when I got stopped, like a muppet I admitted to speeding as to be fair I was doing about 40 when it was a 30, so did they do me for doing that? oh no the police claimed I was doing 56 over the whole length of the bridge yeah rite so I was doing 56 in my little rover bubble strait of a roundabout don't think so...anyway went to court over it and although the police statement was written two weeks after the incident and they had no photographic evidence I got 6 points and £300 fine and just to rub it in £20 costs ....lets just say my respect for the police has taken a bit of a knock.
Sorry to go on but as you can tell its still a bit of a sore point...live and learn I guess.
