Attacked by another Subaru Driver
Hi all,
Well I had a very nasty experience today, I was paying B&Q over at parkhead (Glasgow) a visit to get some boring gardening stuff, and thought I would pay my folks a little visit as they live not far from there.
I was driving to my folks place when a white classic came from no-where and was right up my ar*e, he then over-took me, with traffic coming on the other side of the road, pulled in front, jumped on the brakes and the passenger jumped out with a crow bar..!!! OH FU*K.. WHAT THE FU*K IS GOING ON HERE….. I then quickly put the car into reverse and reversed away as this guy is running towards me with the crow bar, I am now too far from him so he just threw the bar at the front of the car which bounces off the front of the car.
Oh you would think that is bad enough…
But then from behind me a corsa or some kind of small hatchback appears, and as I was doing a u turn to get away, the driver of the corsa got out, he also had a crow bar and he ran towards the driver’s door of my car and tried to smash the driver’s window! Luckily for me the window held.
I then put my foot down to get out of that situation, I don’t like going that fast on public roads but this was called for as I was trying to get to London Rd Police Station as fast as I could as I felt “my life was in danger” and did not know what they would do if they got hold of me. I went through about 2/3 red lights as I didn’t want to stop and get caught by these nutters, I did go through them slowly, with my full beam on and with the horn working over time. I was lucky because when I was driving along Duke St I saw a Police car and 2 officers (did not think I would be so happy to see the police) who took my details down and I gave them all the details I could remember about the passenger of the white classic and the driver of the corsa / hatchback that was behind me. I advised the police that I had to drive through the sets of traffic lights and they advised not to worry about it. Police advised as I did not know the people or know the reg numbers it will be a long shot to find them but the officer did say they will be checking the CCTV around the area with a view of finding the cars involved.

the last thing we want is for a member of our community to end up in prison for carrying a fire arm.
cheers mark
forgot to say hope the car is ok, and glad you are not injured in any way.

very very sorry to hear about this. dispicable behaviour, and a typical pslewis dribble responce.
ive just got a question for the legal heads on this, regarding protection. now i obviously realise we cant drive round with knifes and guns in out cars legally. what can we "get away" with as means of last ditch protection??
ie a pool/snooker cue in the event someone trying to harm you, with serious intent. im seriously considering some kind of protection, as said, as a last ditch attempt on either me or my fiance, but something the police, if they stop me for a random check, wouldnt find suspicious, or malicious.

A crowbar again is handy.
Really any tool - Just have a reason for having it in you car.
Always back your car into a space - You can get away quicker
Always leave a big gap between you and the car infront - This is your escape space
If you are followed I have been twice, is it usually fairly obvious. If you check your rear mirrors every few seconds, which if you are driving properly you will do. You will notice a follow fairly quickly. These people arent trained in survelliance they will stand out. I pulled over in a BUSY area before I got my house to watch them drive past me slowly. I knew what they wanted to do. Follow me home and come back that night.
Allways lock your doors. This should be your first instinctive action as soon as you get into the car.
There is more COB - but these are fairly usefull habits.
Glad you are OK - looks like you handled the situation well.
Bet your a bit shaken though - I think anyone would be.

Absolutely shocking ..
The main thing is that your OK and your still in possession of your car.
The Wan**ers need to be caught or the next scooby/performance car owner might not be as fortunate ( If you can call it that )
