Nice to see that the second guy has owned it for 4 years and doesn't know what model it is!!!!!
I'd of said the quickest way of telling from the photos was the black intercooler.

Theres someone selling one similar in Cars For Sale.
Seems they are referred to as 2 door Type RAs (by those who have the car documents at least). They are essentially WRXs in 2 door bodies.
Probably more reliable than an STI Type R but I doubt insurers will make any alterations to premium from one to another.

why more reliable??? i dont understand that statement.

but that would not matter a jot on reliability?? just affect performance slightly,
as ecu's in subarus are "self learning, any small differences in fuel etc, will be compensated for by advance/retard of the ignition (same as when "knock" is detected.
this fuel thing on imported STI'S would never affect the reliability of a car over its WRX cousin.
just my thought,...am i wrong??

Yes you are wrong as the ecu's on later classic sti's do retard up to a point but they were designed to run on 100 ron fuel, which as you not is not available here.
The extra ignition advance found in sti ecu's would cause the car to det due to fuel not being 100 ron causing the the bottom end to let go.

sorry mate, but thats tosh****
there is no way that an imported STI is not as "reliable" (as the comment was)
fueling on 95/97 or 100 ron, will not cause the bottom end to let go, it may (if driven like a looney) cause "top end damage" but only in severe conditions, and thats not down to "reliability" its down to the WRONG FUEL.
you are deveating somewhat to try and secure your point.
WRX and STI models are just as reliable as each other.....ask subarus R&D
if you add bad oil..it may also "let go" but thats not down to reliability, just wrong oil...come on .

and early STI models were far more "reliable" as they were hand built, as opposed to the factory assembly lline run of the early WRX cars.
but its a mute point.
good luck.
