Hi all,

The ICE section is a little sparse so thought I'd try and get the following questions answered in here if poss :

1. Dynamat should be applied directly onto the metal of the door frame behind the speaker (the metal with all the holes etc. where the wires come through).
2. Does this mean it goes under the plastic liner?
3. Sounds a bit of a stupid question but I guess you don't cover over the wires or cover over the holes in the metal work?
4. Would just doing the bottom half of the door be OK or is it better to do the lot?

Does this mean I take the plastic liner off, cover all the metal (excluding the holes of course?) and then replace the plastic liner?

This site has some step-by-step 'how-to' information. The mat used in these pictures is a different product, but for all intents and purposes it is like Dynamat:

One last question if you can help. Cos they use RAAmat they don't put the plastic moisture liner back. I presume with Dynamay that I do need to replace the liner, makes sense to do so I guess?

If you peel the liner off carefully you'll find it is stuck on with a kind of tacky sealant stuff. Keep the liner safe and it should stick back in the same position when you are done.

The Ensolite they use is a kind of thin acoustic foam, it absorbs road and tyre noise. In the UK you can get a self-adhesive equivalent to that called Teklite, have a look on Ebay.
