If the smoking stopped when you replaced the old turbo and has only just begun again then i would say the second hand turbo could also be knackered, i dont know enough about this sort of stuff but i would have it checked by a specialist in case its another problem damaging your turbo before it starts to cost you.
Also what colour smoke is it, it could be other things like headgasket, burning oil etc, im sure someone else will be along shortly who can help you more. lee

Smoking when your on the overun sounds like valve stem seals, but thats unusual on Subarus, if the turbo oil return pipe is compressed/kinked or blocked in any way then this will increase the oil pressure in the turbo centre section and force it past the seals into the compressor housing which will give the symptoms you describe as well!

what colour is the smonke mate. if its blue coloured then your burning oil and may be the turbo oil seals, you sound like you've just had some bad luck....

What are you saying mate, it smokes all the time, is it worse on over run or when pulling away, once youve pulled away does it stop smoking, does it smoke on start up. A good idea would be to get someone to follow you to see exactly when it smokes and doesnt, it could be a few things, the worst 2 being turbo and bottom end. How much oil is it using, it could be stem seals but like already said very unlikely and also its only done 65k.
