There are few tell tale signs depending on age and model. There are a few extras on UK cars compared with EU imports. e.g. STis have trackers, WRXs have side airbags (although some EU ones do), a small centre sun visor and locking wheel nuts.
Do you not have the service book with the supplying dealer stamp?
