Thumbs up A BIG thank you to .......

The Subaru World Rally Team at Goodwood Festival of Speed today.

I don't usually go in for all this 'thank you' stuff, as you know, but - when something is given to you freely and willingly then I feel it is a step beyond and appropriate to post a public Thank You.

To all those involved in making my (and my daughters) day I thank you - your names will remain closely guarded - but you know who you are!

Meeting Petter Solberg was great - really nice bloke ...... Mike Bushell, from BBC Sport was there getting scared out of his skin Watch it after the hourly news tomorrow morning!!

It was good to meet Colin McRae too - he will be using the Subaru WRC tomorrow (Saturday).

The lunch was jolly good too - I did leave some for the others

Cheers again lads and lasses - brilliant!!!

Pete, for a second there I thought you'd had your Impreza modified and you were thanking the mapper for his good work !

Glad you and the young lasses enjoyed Goodwood. Never been myself - on the "to do before I reach 21" list.

Cool, i hope you pointed out that modding the cars will reduce the life of the car, Subaru spend £££££££'s developing the car... eh Pete

They were all ears to my suggestions - the new WRC will not be running on Gold wheels in 2008, all forms of CockLink devices are to be banned (in fact there isn't any anyway, and there will be none introduced!!)

I explained to Petter over lunch, that, if he took the corners more gently the brake pads would last longer as will the tyres .... and easing off the throttle will more than TRIPLE his mpg figures

He seemed to take it all on-board

I have here a Goodwood ticket signed by Petter Solberg and Colin McRae
