Strange Liquid Noise From Behind Dash
I have noticed that there seems to be a strange noise from behind the dashboard every so often. And my Air con doesn't work. I got my Air con serviced last august and it worked brilliant after that. Then I parked my car up at the end of August and wasnt moved again until a couple of months ago. My car was started up atleast once a week and ran with the Air con button on and the heat on, to help any damp dry out.
Any idea's?
As on my receipt it says the system will need servicing again in 2008.
Crap service job maybe?

either your drain pipe from your a/c has blocked (you can see this dangling from under the car) or you've got an air lock in your cooling system and its the heater matrix "gurgling"

Two seperate issues I think.
Air con not working is lack of gas probably (its leaked out - unless someone stole it )
Gurgling is due to air trapped in the cooling system. It needs to be bled. Air can also get sucked in if the return valve in the pressure cap gets sticky.

Trouble is you should not be able to hear water moving about in the matrix,as that sugests that its not full.... air lock would be my guess also, but that infers there is a leak also to let air into the system.... have a look around the engine bay to see if you can spot any leaks.

I'd go with low coolant level. Had it in my Newage and classic after fitting Samco hoses and once the system had settled top them up and no more gurgling.

That reminds me of a strange anecdote about kids TV favourite Keith Chegwin. When he lived in Newbury in the 80's in his big drinking days, he'd hide his alcoholism from his wife in a number of intricate ways. One was he replaced his windscreen washer fluid with vodka and popped outside to 'check the fluid levels, luv', every now and again. True story.

you said every so often.... this might not be th air con. ( thought when you had the A/C on its supposed to on the cold temp setting/not good to have it hot).
any way. i get a strage gurgle type noise, check the passanger side dash up under the kick tray... i found that water was some how getting in and storeing there, then when i would start the car it gurgle, sealed the w/s and plastic covers and the problem went away.. if you got condensation then it sounds like you have water leak in to the car..
as i said only a idea.
