Need some help with a few questions answered please. I will be buying a 95/96 STI 555 or a STI RA at end of this month.
Planning to fit a sports cat and full performance exhaust, performance panel air filter, uprated fuel pump, uprated topmount intercooler.
My question is the chip side of things,
1. what does it really do
2. will it shorten the life of the engine
3. are they worth the cost/hassle
4. will it remove the 112mph limit or do i still do the mechanical speedo convertor on the speedo
The chips ive looking at are,
Polar Performance Option 1 : Pre-Programmed 27C1028 Chip
ESL Impreza ECU Upgrade Board v1.0
Have i overlooked anything, im looking for a car thats going be used everyday and reliable as possible.
With mods im looking for 300bhp to 350bhp does this sound achievable
Thankyou for your time, Slippy
*On a side note all the 95/95 STI 555 's ive been looking at, the speedo reads up to 120mph, is that right.

Do a search on here for 'esl' as loads of people have had/got them or just pm Scott.T@PolarPerformance (that's how he posts on here).
If you are going to do those mods i think option 2 or 3 on the polarperformance website may be more suitable.
www.enduringsolutions.com tells you more info.
