Default Black diamond brakes

I am about to go for Black Diamond front pads (predator fast track) and grooved (not drilled) discs as they sound OK and are the fitted price works out cheaper than the OE Subaru parts fittied by Subaru (I am on a tight budget before anyone asks).

Question is - has anyone had these and what did they think?

PS. This is on a MY05 WRX (no track days, just heavy feet on the pedals).

Cheers.

Got Black Diamond pads with standard discs ,4 pots and braided hoses on a 93 wrx and they give me a lot more confidence when braking (do seem to produce a lot of though)

I am now thinking (after speaking to Alyn) that I will go for the DS2500 pads as I don't want to compromise stopping power with the way I drive. Few more pounds but still comes in cheaper than Subaru OE total price.

Edited to add - anyone have comments on DS2500 pads and the amount of brake dust on the rims - better or worse than OE?

If MGFs have the same ones as the missus's ex-MG ZR 160 then using your feet to stop would be an improvement

I recently changed to Black Diamond grooved and drilled discs along with DS2500 pads on my MY02 STI.

I had before DS2500's on my brembo discs.

Huge transformation in stopping power. Discs are noisy, but at least I know they are working.

I suppose I may as well ask - can anyone get the DS2500 for MY05 (not STi) for under £130 delivered? Can't find anywhere on the web that can beat ASP.

PS. Thanks for all the info so far

Stay away from drilled discs as they can crack over time just get the grooved.

I have been using these discs on my 205 for the past 16 months (same set). They have had various types of pad against them and probably done nigh on 3500 track miles. I would recommend them for sure........

Obviously this is on the light car though

Used black diamond grooved on citroen xsara with ds2500. Warped them at donnington. Not impressed (changed them after with £30 cheap disks , no issue whats so ever even after 3 track days).
DS2500 are fantastic. Used them on xsara and WRX wagon MY05. Been on track with both cars. You get increase in stopping power AND increase in longevity.
OEM Subaru disks where prone to rust as I don't drive a lot, changed them with the cheapest discs offered by Alyn (£80?). Happy with that setup.

I found them very good. But it was part of hoses/fluid too. So don't know what attributed to what.

As for brake dust, no more than before. If i don't clean it off, my silver alloys change to Bright Flitter colour.
