Soon to be a STI owner!
I'll soon be a Subaru owner, I've just put down a deposit on a 53 plate STi! I pick it up on Tuesday and i can't wait! I've driven some fast cars but the performance on these is amazing! The cars got full Subaru history with 44K on the clock!

I've bought it private and did a bit of haggling get her to sell at just over 11 grand which i thought was a bargain. I have got a few question though! Did these cars originally come with black inserts in the bumper and down the sides of the car? The one i've bought has these but all the STi's that i've saw on here are fully colour coded? It also has fully adjustable Tein Suspension and a full Vortex exhaust system. I'm new to Scoobs so was just wondering if these are decent mods?

Not sure why it would have black inserts as mine and all others i have seen have been colour coded.
I presume you did all the checks on the car
Nik.
p.s. Enjoy and introduce yourself to the staff at your local Shell garage as you will be exchanging Christmas cards this year

Welcome to STi ownership
Have to see them pics to see what you mean about the bumper.
Full vortex, nice. Vibrate the neighbours houses to bits that will.

Yes i did a vehicle check on the car and also phoned the Subaru garage that has done the servicing to verify the service history. I assumed the inserts must have been an original subaru part as they have the sti logo built into them at the driver and passenger doors. Once i get it on Tuesday i'll get some pics up to see what folks think!
When I first thought about buying a Scoob (A year before I did Buy one) I went for a Test drive, and the test car had the Black Bumper/door guards on it. I thought they looked pretty cr@p TBH.
