Talking

They are lighter but that 1/4mile time is bull**** for such a low torque cossie and they 2wd (4x4 saffs r heavier).

3drs are bout 1100kg std

1/4 mile times dont really do cossies justice as its all about getting good startline traction- rolling (30mph+) starts is where they kick ***.

A Renault 5 GT Turbo weighs 983 KG so I'd say he's taking utter BOLLOX unless it's completely stripped out with no dash, seats, windows, engine etc

My old 3-Door certainly felt heavier than my Scoob (when driving, not lifting). Not sure on the actual figures tho'

The Mustang gearbox makes up most of the weight.....

The weight could be correct as Sierras do seem to get lighter as the get older due to oxidisation and disentegration of the bodywork. A Y reg 1.6 L weighs about 200 kilos

983 kg is quoted in EVO as the Kerb weight of a Renault 5 GT turbo as quoted by the manufacturer.

the 800kg weight is probably the shell weight as some weight figures are quoted without some working parts such as engine and wheels.(or is it including engine but less all the interior? -can't remember.)

The same magazine quotes the pre 01 scoob as 1235kg and the Sapphire 4x4 Cossie as 1267kg, there are no figures for the 3dr, but it can't be THAT much less, can it?
