Cut a long story short, it drives me focking mad, especially when you flash them and all they do is flash you back.

So what do you all do and is it only me that it winds up??

it really p1sses me off when these a$$holes drive around with their foglights on.i think its in the highway code that they should only be used when FOG reduces visibilty to LESS than 100 mtrs.(not cos of rain,mist,spray,darkness,volvo-driver-itis etc) oh,think it applies to snow also.
now 100mtrs is quite a long way in traffic, like about 20 cars or more depending on the gap between.
I try a couple of flashes, and if that fails its FULL beam on constant, but what I would really like to do is rip their fog lamps off their volvo and shuve 'em right down their fecking necks...

aaaaaaarrrgghh

off to take some valium...

Find a copper and drive past him.

M27 yesterday, guy behind with front fogs on, saw the traffic cop in the inside lane and turned them off, so the nugget knew he shouldn't have them on, and what car???? VTR

AIUI the Highway Code makes no distinction about FOG. It states simply about visibility.

The number of people, though, that have them on when visibility is good for 1000m. Grrrr!

OK...you just have to accept that most people know they are in the wrong to have their fog lights on and just don't care!

No amount of flashing lights at them and getting mad is going to make them do any different. I agree its annoying and selfish though.

Since the last "fogs" thread here, I've been switching fogs on and off, flashing beam at them etc, but I've only had one success. The stats therefore bear out the above statement....ie nothing you can do. Leave it to the police...if they can be bothered that is.

If they've got their rear fogs on I flash them until they pull over, if it's fronts and they're dazzling then it's full beam ON. I do neither if there's other traffic.

Every morning I see the same N Plate Red Escort XR3i/GTi (whatever) with his fog lights on and dipped headlights, every morning I flash him and point at the fog lights, and the next morning he still has them on. One day I reckon I might drive into him!!

If they are driving towards me with their fogs on, I just put my finger on the fog light button and switch my fogs on and off about 3 times - its quite funny as someone did this to me once and it made me feel quite stupid! (and before I get flamed, I didn't realise I had my fogs on!)

totally agree with everyone here, the 'fog light thing' really grips my ****!!

ive noticed that 9 out of 10 of the to55ers are people driving french cars, peugot in particular, and no matter how many signals you give them, be it flash, fogs on and off, rude gestures the **** dont take any notice

imho when people buy a french car i think that they have a sensor installed on the bonnet as a standard option that automatically turns the fog lights on and then changes to dipped when visibility is reduced to less than 3 miles!!

anyway thats my 2 pence worth

chris

I've given up trying to do anything about it. If I flashed everyone who I saw with fogs on, I'd wear the lamps out within a week.

Can't even be bothered getting annoyed about it either, it's not worth the stress! To be honest I've never been blinded by someone's fogs, I just think 'plonker' when I see someone with em on, especially all the people carriers that have taken to doing it. Rear fogs are more of a problem IMHO as they do actually dazzle quite severely.

There's a Saxo round our way that's been doing it for 2 months now, still unaware that one of the bulbs doesn't work

If they're behind you put your rear fogs on. Did this last week and the cheeky blighter blasted me with his full beam. Like most of you I've found flashing from the front to be quite fruitless (oohhh I say).

Worse than that... at the AGM/Karting event earlier this year, someone in a red Scooby turned up with his main headlights on normal, and his PIAAs on!!! How blinding would that be to everyone?!?!

im not really bothered either way, dont do it myself, unless conditions call for them, but as for others using them,.....WHO CARES!

got more important things to worry about than someone with fogs on,only thing that bothers me is the people who 'forget' they are on full beam.

tis the season to be jolly,

Bitten Hero

Was just going to say, PIAA's usually get people to turn them off. Caus they are bl00dy blinding and no drivers mirror dimmer thingy is going to help them

Works for me anyway. But as mentioned earlier, only ever use these to pi55 people off when no other road users are around... Sensible.

Cheers

Simon

Ironically enough after making my last post about Laguna's one was behind me with the fogs on, I let it past to check the model, sure enough Laguna 2.0 Sport in Met red.

Is there a moth gene mixed in somewhere in the average Laguna driver ?

When Laguna drivers die, do they go towards the light or is it not quite bright enough ?

I moved to the States about ten years ago. Here they don't know there are such things as fog lights, overtaking lanes or indicators!!! The definition of the word frustrating is driving on a twelve lane motorway through the center of Atlanta with six cars ahead of you all doing the same speed. Each and every one of the drivers thinking they have the moral right of way because they are doing EXACTLY the speed limit...and no amount of flashing your main beam will make one of them move to let you past!!!!!!!!!!

Yanks are the worst and least courteous bloody drivers on the planet!!!

Snipes,
we wish all our roads are straight and flat but unfortunately they aint either of those and especially on country lanes when its pitch black, people coming towards you with front fogs on AND full beam just blind you for that instant and at 50mph your in deep **** if you cant see where your going!
The other annoying thing is that people think its a god given right to drive with fogs on, it just looks like your driving with full beam on, even in town and that glares both drivers and pedestrians alike
Oh and apart from its illegal to drive with them on when visability is more than 75yrds......

I said i didn't
he WROTE A BL*ODY fine ticket out (£20)

At the time i spoke to Richard Grimes (SIDC Chairman at that time) and asked if he could put an artical in TrueGrip about the legal side to fog lights etc!! he did it for the next issue.

HENCE i don't use my fogs unless i need to.

I try to be zen-like and say "it doesn't matter..." but it's annoying and can be dangerous, so I give 'em a blast of the Cibies ... usually doesn't make any difference but if enough people do it maybe they'll get it eventually

Ah, my second favourite subject. I usually flash my foglights at the little ****, then flash the headlights and then show them the 'banker' sign.

We once caught a Laguna driver on a single track road and as we pulled past him my mate got him to roll down his window and asked him why he had his fog lights on in perfectly clear conditions - he looked very embarassed, as the reason that he and anyone else who has them one when they are not needed is simply trying to make their boring car look sporty in some sad way.

Quick Reply: What do you all do when you see someone with there FOG lights on GRRRR!!
