Default How many miles with the fuel light on?

OK bit of a strange one for ya.
I am not one for driving with my fuel light on, so in short if it ever gets that low I fill up immediatly. Rare I must say.

However, when its got that low, at the pump I can just about squeeze 45-47 litres in. So is the light coming on with 15 litres left in the tank. And could I actually be getting considerably higher mileage from a tank?

So in short, when you tank is apparently really low, how much do you get in per fill up ?

Na dont get me wrong I dont usually let mine get that low. Just curious as the tank is a 60 litre tank, so I guess with its heavy consumption its just over cautious.

Just wondered if other people get more in, or should I say, get the fuel light later in the tank. The needle is almost on empty by this point.

Would not like to test out how much is left though.

I've never actually had the fuel light come on in mine, maybe it's fcucked

It's always about 46 - 48 litres to fill the tank and that's with the needle nearly right at the bottom, not that I trust the fuel gauge anyway, I get 130 miles for the first half then another 60 or so for the second.

I almost thought these cars had 50 litre tanks

Mine's about 50 litres when the light comes on. I guess in theory you could get another 40 miles, but that would drag all the crap through the fuel system.

When the light comes on I reset one of the trips and try fill up within 20 miles and drive 'gently' for that time - bugeye.

Can subaru's suffer from fuel starvation if you make a hard corner when fuel is low ?

+1; if you've never experienced it you either don't drive on < 0.25 of a full tank or you're not trying hard enough, lol

Most I ever got into my Classic was just over 55 litres with the fuel light having been on for about 25 miles.

I've got 57 l. in a couple of times, so I guess you can do about 40 miles on the light (normal driving, maybe 60 at a steady top gear speed) .

Default RE: Fuel run Out

As a Dealer i know the cars arrive new with 5 litres of petrol in them, all i can tell you is that the fuel needle will drop halfway down the E (for empty) before any problems arrise. Although it goes without saying it does no good at all to run a tank dry.
