Hi Mate,
Resonated Pipe would do the trick. Mines a MY05 STIppp 305bhp standard. Changed the Resonated Pipe and had remap and got 339bhp & 312lbs. Sweet.

Baffles in the exhaust that cut down on the droning sound at cruising speed. IMHO you want a resonated centre section if it's a daily driver, esp if you do motorway miles.

Decat means no catalytic converter (that's what robs the power).

i was thinking of keeping the standard center section and only uprating to a prodrive backbox and sports cat. Do you think i should replace the center section?

It's alright dude, my knowledge runs very thin. Its the centre section of the exhaust (Middle bit) I changed that from the Standard Subaru one to one that Power Engineering had made £120 approx. I think Standard are roughly 2.5" Diameter against the decated 3.5" one. Should of added about 9-10bhp to the Remap that I had done.

You should also replace the cat pipe for a decat pipe. The resonated centre is down to noise preference more than power/restriction.

And yeah, that should be about right.

Pics of exhaust components are here, then you'll know what is what:

can you pass an MOT still with a decat or do you need to put it back on for one day per year?
