Hello mate,

I've got Quick Shift on MY05 and is brilliant! saying that I tried a brand new Impreza in the Show room and couldn't really tell that much difference. My friend has an MY02 STI and tried mine and same result. I think some are adjustable but when mine goes in for a service I'm going to ask if they can adjust it as short as possible.

You will feel every notch on the gearchange, its more difficult to push the lever into gear. Now you have the full story!!

BTW I have one fitted too and I like it.

Just a thought that should make you happy. A friend who had a classic let me have a go in his. Now his was highly modded but didn't have Quick Shift. Now if you get Quick Shift to close the throw as much as MY05 with Quick Shift- then now your talking!!!!! Massive difference.

Can recommend the TiC/Kartboy quickshifter and uprated front & rear shift linkage bushes - totally transforms the gearchange.
As well as reducing the throw by about 40% the whole shift becomes much more positive and direct - the squidgy, vague factory gearchange just disappears. It's a really squat lever too so looks 'the dogs' as well !!
Isn't a complete unit like the Prodrive quickshift but it's a bit more than just the lever you get from B&M. Very well made and straightforward to fit - think it took about an hour to fit everything (start to test drive)
Got mine in the 'states for not much dosh what with $$ not being worth too many ££, but I think somebody has a UK concession for them - not sure who though.
Loads of stuff on NASIOC about them ( including fitting guides) and TiC Kartboy guys were really great to deal with too.

hi,

had mine dealer fitted for 240£.

its the sti developed one for the 5mt and is the complete linkage and stabiliser bar. this requires getting the car up on ramps so not a diy job.

the other options for around 100 are the shifter only and can be done from inside the car in minutes .

can recommend the subaru part - really helps keep the turbo on boost particularly on 1st to 2nd.
