Well 14.2 isn't exactly slow for a 1/4 standing start. Your V5 might go just under that, but there wont be much in it. 13.5 seconds maybe?

Still, your mate spent 20K on a Golf, so I say you win regardless.

13.5 shoulnt bea problem with your car. Maybe even a little quicker with an aggressive launch

I spent 10k on a Clio 16v plus countless hours of work on it, to run a 13.3@107mph, if it's any consolation to your mate with the Golf. Probably not though.

14.2 after £20k. LOL! I hope 18k of that was ICE, styling and handling mods!!

A bog standard Type-R will hammer the hell out of that. With a launch 13.3 @ 105 (ish) should be possible.

taking it easy just to beat him, a 13.8 will be real easy to achieve

but if your going to go ***** out, with a bit of practice, i would have said 13.2, maybe 13.1 could be had. Alot also depends on where your running.

York raceway, i seem to suffer from alot of wheelspin if to aggressive, but running at elvington, (also in york) spinning the wheels has never been an issue, there seems to be so much more grip
