Default does the key get coded to the immob unit or ecu?

got myself in to a pickle
i bought a MY98 sport without keys or bootlid (inc lock)

it was stolen recovered and so far ive replaced:
drivers window
bootlid
full prefacelift lockset

the problem ive run in to is the std immob its a mitsubishi one with the carrier round the barrel.

i now realise the i will need a transponder type key to start the dam thing!

so is it possible to get a transponder chip and an immob unit or will the ecu need replacing too???

thanks

ECU too mate e.g. after PPP fitting keys have to be recoded to match ECU transponder signal.

i think the cheapest way for me to get round it would be to just gat subaru to match a transponder to my car then glue it to the steering lock???

thanks for the info

When PPP was fitted to my MY06 I had to take all keys in so they could be recoded to match the ECU and transponder , perhaps the technology has moved on from the classics etc..
