Message for Chuckster.....please email me with your views on doing the Wetter the Better course in January. Trying to get a group together and I know you were keen when we spoke at the Kent Forest stages. Incidentally any others who may wish to come along, I want to do it in January (any weekend) and have asked Don what dates are available. I will post more when I know more.

I'd like to do the course too, but am worried about the potential damage to car (sorry does that sound wet) .... so can anyone tell me ... how likely is it that I'll end up pranging my pride and joy?

Chuckster..sorry about the id bit!
Rebecca...there should be no damage as the surface is specially designed and all run off areas are grass as I understand it...also IF you do as the tutors tell you you should not encounter any problems anyway( This info I got from their web stie)
Martin..see you later.
rik.c May need to book something sooner to get places..don't know as yet what is available.

Would be interested in doing the course in January too (having recently joined the seemily ever expanding lift-off oversteer brigade). Will come along to the next meet at the Woolpack - what time do you meet?

Is anything going to be happenning then, or are we waiting to see if Simon can sort out this other thing?
Ideally if Simon sorts it out and this goes ahead they could be on the same weekend.

I have to admit thatI share Rebecca's concern's. I'm keen to attend the MIRA course, as although I've handled RWD and FRW cars at the limit (with most experience being RWD), this is the first AWD car I've had, and would like to know what the car feels like when really pushed, in a "safe" environment, rather than "for real".
However, I've read reports from others that your car can get hurt, and in fact one of our well known tuning "Gods" warned me off it on the basis that you can damage your car. Plus, I suppose, I tend to be a little cautious in bad conditions, because some years ago I was extremely lucky not to be killed when I lost control on black ice.
Bearing that in mind, I would probably be somewhat tentative on the track.
Despite all this, I still want to know how to control my car on the limit. But given my caution, will Mira be worth it?

Ahhh now I see what you are on about, cheers Robertio. I am awaiting a phone call from Don. I have the 20th Jan 2001 in mind for us. He's being elusive at present.
