As a former Evo owner i have met quite a few of these people at various meets and they are a really good set of lads and girls, at a few of the meets i used to go to a lad with a 22b used to come down and a lad with a scooby sport and they were made just as welcome as anyone else.

You will get the odd @sshole driving an Impreza that will look down on a Saxo owner as an example or an M5 or Porsche owner that will look down on all and sundry etc. You can`t brand all owners of a certain car as w@nkers, its just the way of the world as you will always get the odd one that thinks he/she is above everyone else etc

on here no-one usually mentions other cars and how rubbish they think they are SN users are enthusiastic about subarus.

most the moans and groans on here are about chav boy in his saxo or corsa, forthwhich the grandad "posse" usually slate

but seriously, some evo owners are *******, but some subaru woners are ******* too. i was at the donny show recently and was parked up all night camping next to an fq300 with a stage one kit on it. tuned to 360bhp, they guy was seriously sound as ****, and we chatted about alsorts for ages.

i think the thing is ow though, subaru havent kept up with mitsubishi in releasing stock high powered cars, hence the value of scoobs has gone down, and so has the opinion. evos are rarer on the roads because less people can afford them... thats why they look down on us lot sometimes.

i did have a video on my pc somewhere of another fq300 being slightly embarrased by a 300brake corsa. totally genuine too but think the mrs deleted a load of files by accident. made me smile though. if i find it il post it for you too laugh at

I think the Impreza image has gone downhill since the price of the classics have dropped, they are now driven by all sorts of people, you don't tend to see the same types of drivers in Evos. In that respect I can see their 'chav' point. It still didn't put me off buying the car though.

I have an interest in all Jap cars but don't wave to any. I tried it with Imprezas a few times when I first got on here but just got funny looks.

Hmm! I have noticed that most of the diatribes aimed at evo drivers come from people on here with very few posts! What's up guys do you only have small gonads, and slagging off other people makes them grow? If you have owned any other cars apart from an impreza, which is probably your first "performance saloon" hence the lack of posts! then, perhaps you might have the right to chastise the owners of these cars. Speaking from experience of owning a standard bugeye, (my current diesel would leave it for dead once rolling) and a PPP classic (a very decent and quick motor) An evo V and an evo VIII both standard apart from a de-cat pipe, then I'm sorry to have to rain on your parade but, unless you have a seriously modified impreza you wouldn't see see which they went down any country lane.....FACT!!!!. As for slagging subarus, I still use an evo forum and have done for 2-3 years just as I still use scoobynet. There is a small minority on there, as there is on here (otherwise I wouldn't be writing this) that do slag off other cars, but the majority just enjoy the banter that exist between owners of very similar rally bred road cars. Just because you have read one or two post on a forum you don't use regularly, doesn't mean every evo owner hates every impreza owner. Wake up and smell the air..............................it smells of DERV!!!!

I often get waves from Evo drivers and often wave to them too

I did volunteer a thumbs up at a yellow Gallardo the other day which was returned too

Just a mutual acknowledgement of folk who enjoy their cars

Subaru's, Evo's, Focus st's, Vxr's, M3's ............the list goes on.

I appreciate all performance cars and don't look down my nose at any of them.
As said before it is generally the odd few who have had an experience that has annoyed them that causes them to slate other cars and their drivers.

It is a little bit shallow to say "all Evo drivers are................"

I always wave to both Scoobies and Evo's out of respect that the drivers have similar tastes to mine. I love both cars. If no-one waves back that's up to them. Its laughable that some one can make so many presumptions about another purely based on the car that they drive.

The way some of the people were talking about scooby owners on the evo forum was like we are from 2 seperate planets. We all like 4WD turbocharged saloons, the rest is just detail.

We recently invited MLR guys to a meet. No problems at all but later on the MLR forum we were slated.

It appears that we did not fall into the "**** let's go fast all the time, donut, donut, donut all the time" brigade.

But, horses for courses. Sadly, I like a car that does not sound like a washer full of forks on super spin or needs servicing every weekend.

Plus I bet there isn't a whole 'I hate Evo 4s cus I drive a 6' thing like we get with Bugeyes!

They only thing stopping me getting an Evo is twice the insurance and the 4500 mile service thing!
