Does it have a face lifted front like this one - if so it's a Version III. If not it should be a Version II - but I stand to be corrected.

Not sure about the front because it has a twin headlight conversion.

What a rare and refreshing change! GC8C4ED is a V2/1996 model year STI.....

The reason that the fella above mentioned the later (MY97) car, is that production of 1997's model actually started in September 1996 (thatd be an GC8D4ED).

I know all of the AMNs but useful information similar to this can be found here. Take it with a pinch of salt though as there are mistakes, but its a good place to start.

The main reason i asked was to see if one of these

eBay.co.uk: SUBARU IMPREZA SILICONE INDUCTION PIPE WRX GC8 1996-00 (item 290093093480 end time 10-May-07 21:24:25 BST)

Or these

eBay.co.uk: Subaru WRX silicone turbo inlet induction pipe hose STI (item 290101490579 end time 13-Apr-07 14:17:57 BST)

Would fit.
