what's the deal with tesco petrol??
I usually use my local tesco (chorley, lancs) where the pumps are marked up "super unleaded 99 RON" but yesterday had cause to use the tesco at the reebok (middlebrook retail park, horwich) and their super unleaded was marked up at 97 RON - and STILL charging the usual SUL price?? what the ****'s going on here? if I'd wanted 97 then I'd have gone to sainsburys
So just a word of warning to other scooby owners - check what's going in your pride and joy as everything's not what it seems ..............

my local tesco used to do both but 97 ron was much cheaper, now they only sell 99ron and since my local sainsbury's have literally ripped out their only 97 ron pump and there are no shell garages I'd be buggered if it weren't for tesco. Tesco do seem to be taking over the world (well my part of it anyway) there are about 6 tesco express/garages and two big stores within a few miles of me!

Tesco sell either 99 RON or 97 RON on a site according to local demand. I can get 99 in Sandhurst but if I go down to mum in Llanelli then they only do 97. Not many scoobs down there I guess!

is it something to do with who owns the garage? franchise?
Tescos near my work does the 99ron, its part of a large store, whereas my local tesco express thingg round the corner only does 97 as its esso fuel.
