hello,im new to all this so please forgive my ignorance!
ive recently bought a 1994 wagon(import)which i am absolutley over the moon with.
however on researching engine number designations etc im coming up with conflicting information.
i thought if i posted said details you lot could tell me what it is!!!!!!!!!
from what i can decipher from 100s of web pages i think its a wrx sa (sti)
please feel free to mock me severley,im not bothered wot it is id just like to know.thanx for your time

how much difference will the 3" exhaust make to overall bhp if standard is 220

 

Does it have an automatic gearbox? if not, it's probably the WRX.

Don't know about the power - a few BHP? They need a new ECU and a re-map to make any significant gains, I think.

you'll find the engine stated here is a version 1 sti. Translated version of http://saisokuimpreza.fc2web.com/siryousitu.htm is useful if search with the engine code you will find the only ref. to it state it is defo a v1 sti and will be closed deck .the wrx sa was a entry level spec car that was then modified after prod the manuals were modified by sti the rest were given auto tranny and have 220 bhp still
