Hi ya

thought it about time i invested in a detector seeing as i just got caught.........

I have read a bit about them on the BB but not many people seem to mention the Valentine 1 which APPEARS to be the best on the market....

Has anyone got one of these - any comments would be appreciated - i do know you have to purchase it from the us or canada though - unless one of you knows of a work around ???

regards

Andy

I've got a BEL Euro 550 and it is *superb*

It has 360 degree laser and radar coverage and will work throughout europe. It's the best ~£400 I've spent imho and it makes you well aware of whats around...go get one!

probably the internet somewhere, or a car audio/entertainment place. WRT fitting, it has a suction pad that goes on the windscreen and simply clips on. It does need power from the cigarette lighter tho, bit annoying but well worth it...

It might work throughout Europe but don't get caught with one in France!

A friend has got the Geodysey which is fantastic as it picks up the ones that are in the road which measure you between 2 points as well as all of the other cameras except the mobile ones, however, I met mattski in a petrol station last night and he thought that the BEL 550 was the dogs wotsits - i think that it would be between these two - I'm making lots of enquiries - will post a topic soon when i have more info.

You really need the Bel and the Geodesy because the Geodesy can't tell whether Gatso's are live or not, only their physical location.

I thought about it and went for the Bel in the end and if I ever get the money I'll add a Geodesy to it.

Cheers,

Phil

scan.co.uk sell the 550 for £370.

I've had mine for a week now and apart from picking up automatic door openers it's superb
