Richard,
Did you get a booking reference number when you ordered the tickets ? If so, give them a call and get them to deliver the tickets to a UK residence. Might work, might not
Cheers

I also paid for the Spectator Pack(special price if bought at time of event pass)
and recieved this morning a programme with a note clearly saying please find enclosed your Spectator Pack or Programme.
I rang the order line and got a dippy moo from a call centre who told me the letter said I would get the pack later. I explained to her the wording of the letter said I had one or the other to which she admitted she had not seen the letter! How can you quote the contents of a letter you have not read?
I will ring them again tomorrow to get a better answer. She did say though that the event passes had just arrived and would be going out this week.

unbelievable this!!!
i am sure many of you will remember how vocal i was about this farce when we first heard about an all ticket rally GB.
I have some friends coming from the USA to this rally so i booked tickets months ago to ensure they were not let down. Amazingly they and i still have nothing to show we have paid.
My big worry is how the hell are they going to know how many people will turn up for the superspecial for example who hold event passes and therefor should get an entry, yet they are still going to sell tickets on the door. Can you imagine the chaos of 200,000 event pass holders wanting to go see the superspecial, something they are entitled too.
I will be very angry if my friends from overseas are subjected to a farce.
have any of you seen any publicity about the requirement for passes to the stages yet?? i havent except in the specialist motorsport press, something a large proportion of NetworkQ Rally spectators dont read!!
Not Impressed!!!

As far as I can remember once being told that
The British Rally is the largest spectator sport in the British sport calander!
but they couldn't organize a night in a brewery.
It's getting to the point when I'm think I'm not going to bother next year and I'll just stick to the British Rally Championship.

I wouldn't worry about your tickets, the MSA are considering scrapping the rally if the fuel protesters go at it again anyway.
Oh well, at least I won't get stuck in a traffic jam for three hours again

It's in todays Motoring News, and I quote ,
"If every day people couldn't go about their business because they hadn't got any petrol, it would be insensitive of us to be running around the countryside contesting a rally"

Do it!
After ~25 years of watching the RAC (or whatever) - incl. 17 years uninterupted we (mates + me) cried enough!
No rally of Wales for us this year thank you . . .
We are sticking to other UK rallies (recent Track Rod was ACE - ask Rum* ! ! !)
As you are good Yorshire dwelling lad do you want to join us for some Yorkshire forest rallies next year?

Heard first thing this morning that rally may be cancelled due to petrol protest. If it is then not much we can do about that.
Also heard that Superspecial wont be finished in time for the rally. As I work about two miles from Cardiff Bay I thought I'd have a look. After telling security I was going somewhere I was'nt I found the area where the work is ongoing. Imagine my horror when I climbed the bank to see a mass of mud that hardly resembled a rally stage.
Now this stage is supposed to be 1.5 miles long. As yet they have erected about 100yards of armco and levelled about 200 yards of road. The foundations for the promised grandstands seating 5000 have not commenced yet. Approx 200 seats are in place just resting on some levelled stone. All in all a bloody farce if you ask me. I know we have had a lot of rain but the stage was only started a few weeks ago. If its ready for two weeks it'll be a small miracle. Then again as it will be dark maybe they think nobody will notice. Oh and I did'nt see any car parks either.
On the subject of tickets I had three programmes through today. Dont know why as I didnt order them.No tickets. No rallypack. No explanation.
As for marketing the event they have put up a few poxy banners today in an area where few people go. If this was Rugby then they would move hell and earth to publicize the event just to see a few grown men chasing a funny shaped ball around the grass.

Word via one of the newsgroups is:
"The full event passes (4-days) are being delayed due to printing problems. Network Q expect them to go out in 8 days time from today (8th Nov)."
I haven't verified this but comes from a resonably reputable source.
As for the MN quote: "If every day people couldn't go about their business because they hadn't got any petrol, it would be insensitive of us to be running around the countryside contesting a rally"
Thing is of course that Richard Burns et al. don't drop into a Shell garage and fill up on 97RON anyway. I'm sure they will have no problem getting hold of enough Elf Turbo Max (or whetever it is called nowadays)
Whole thing looks a bit poor. But I remain optomistic, for now
Cheers

Hi All
I was watching telly this morning and on Killroy (I know thats very sad )
was one of the fuel protestors. He stated with the country in the mess its in with the floods etc there would be no direct action or protests.
So it looks as if we might all be ok, but I'm not going to hold my breath just yet.
On the subject of rally packs, after ordering them in previous years,I seem to recall they never arrive much earlier than a week or so before. This is due to them waiting to the last possible moment to print them in case of changes to the route etc.
Hope this cheers up some of those long faces out there.
Chris

Hardly had any rain here in Cardiff in the last week. Also work all over South Wales and have not experienced any problems with flooding and that includes areas where the stages are being run.
Cheers

You want chaos at the event. On Sunday as the closing ceremony takes place in Cardiff city hall just a couple of hundred metres away in the Millinium stadium will be 80,000 rugby supporters watching Wales v South Africa. as if parking wont be a nightmare already they organise 2 major bloody events at the same time next to each other!smart eh!

My Rally pack turned up yesterday so had a good read when i got in, They have changed some of the entrances from last year on some of the stages, Crychan was excellent for parking last year parked near the start line and then walked 3/4 of a mile down to a great bend now you can't park anywhere near it !
Have to replan the whole operation now!
